Roses are red, violets are blue. I love seasonal crafts, how about you?

Valentine’s Day is creeping up on us quickly and this holiday of pink hearts and chocolate reminds us to show our loved ones how much they mean to us. Whether you’re in a relationship, looking for a relationship, or just looking to show your best friend they’re appreciated, the Gaygenda has you covered on Valentine’s craft ideas.

Tune into the Gay Agenda Happenings Discord server on Sunday, February 14 at 7 pm EST/4 pm PST to join in on the festive fun.

But before you can do that, you’re going to need instructions and supplies. Don’t worry, we’ve taken care of that, too. Pick one or more of the projects below, gather your supplies, and have fun!

Don’t forget, these are your projects, so be creative and add your own twist. You can share photos of your proudest works in the Discord chat for a chance to have your project featured on the Gaygenda blog

1. Cards: A heartfelt message in a cute card is the perfect way to tell someone you care and a handmade card shows them you’re willing to put in the work to give them an original gift.

a. Heart Bouquet: For this craft, you’re gonna need paper, a pen, a pair of scissors, and glue

  1. Make the base of the card by folding a piece of paper in half
  2. Trace and cut the hearts out of a piece of colorful paper
  3. Glue the paper hearts onto the card to make a bouquet
  4. Draw lines from the bottoms of the hearts to connect at one point, making the strings of the bouquet

b. Hot Air Balloon: For this craft, you’ll need paper, a pen, scissors, glue

  1. Make the base of the card by folding a piece of paper in half
  2. Cut out five hearts from another piece of paper
  3. Place one heart in the center of the paper and glue it down
  4. Fold the rest of the hearts in half. Then, glue one side of one heart to the left side of the original heart. Do the same with another heart on the right side. Continue with the other two hearts, then glue the last two together in the center

2. Paper Roses: Real flowers can be pricey and they end up dying in just a few days. With these paper roses, your partner or friend will have a flower that will never die.

  1. You’ll need paper, a hot glue gun, or just regular glue, and you can use pipe cleaners, but you don’t necessarily have to.
  2. Cut a circle that’s about three inches in diameter, then cut it into a spiral
  3. Curl the paper upwards from the center to create your rosette. Glue the bottom as you go to help maintain the flower shape.
  4. Glue the rolled-up part to a base or add a pipe cleaner to the bottom to create a stem.
